Literature Text

I walked through the streets
Lit with dim light
Peering through sunglasses
Eyes hidden from sight

Silently crying
A face strung with tears
My vision is blinded
Clouded by fears

Salvation is fading
I turned the wrong way
Stepping into darkness
I’m ready to pay

I’ve all but forgotten
The ones that I’ve hurt
People selfishly abandoned
Faces smashed in the dirt

Upon my creation
I was made whole
In a blood-written contract
I’m selling my soul

But look all around me
I’m not alone
I’m surrounded by others
We’re searching for home

And we will march onward
Listen for the sound
Of our tired, blistered feet
Treading on the ground

Our hearts are apathetic
Our eyes filled with distrust
But today we make a whole new life
We’re leaving you in the dust
This poem is actually supposed to be written in the POV of my Sonic character, Dusk the Porcupine. She is an experiment with extreme apathy toward everything around her. She is mildly influenced by the people who have been in her life, and possesses the slightest bit of emotion because of it, but she still doesn't really have personal opinions toward anything. Dusk is Shadow's long-time servant, even though he doesn't remember her.

If you didn't take the time to read that long paragraph, just take a peek at this. [link]

If you want more info on the story or the poem, leave a comment.

That is all. Have a lovely day.
